ENGLISH HAMPTON Obituary
English Rodger (Roger) Hampton, 80, of Garfield Heights, OH, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 24, 2019. Dad's favorite saying was "I am strong like bull" and that is the way he was all the way to the end with his courageous battle with cancer.
Roger was born in Tazewell County, VA on January 24,1939, and was the seventh son of the late Reverend Harlan D. and Julie Hampton. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Daye Hampton, two sisters, and six brothers.
Roger is survived by his loving partner of 34 years, Linda Sekerak Hampton, Daughters Deb (Chuck) Hall, Tami (Cliff) Johnson and Jenny (Mike) Rohal. Grandchildren, Chaz (Noel) Hall, Kristin Hall, Brenna Rohal, Michael (Lauren) Rohal, Gabrielle Rohal, and several great-grandchildren, and sister, Pauline Armes.
Roger worked at Republic Steel / LTV Steel of Cleveland for 43 years in the Hot Strip Mill before retiring in 2001. (1958 – 2001)
A private family service will be held. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that a donation is made in his honor to the Cleveland Clinic Justin T Rogers Hospice Fund, P.O Box 931517, Cleveland, Ohio 44193-1655.
