Alma J. Hearty

Alma J. Hearty (nee West), 62, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on May 21, 2023 after a courageous fight against dementia.

Born March 18, 1961, Alma spent each day of her life generously providing for those around her. She made a career of nursing and home health care watching over those battling illness. When she wasn't working, she poured her heart into caring for her family and friends, and loved nothing more than being a wife to her husband, and mom to her two sons. A woman full of light and love, she cared deeply for animals including her dog, Shiloh, her garden, flowers and the occasional sweet treat, while holding her Catholic faith close. Stories of her nurturing attitude, passion for caretaking, and joyous laugh will live on with her spirit.

Alma is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Shirley West (nee Uhler). Survivors include her dear husband, Jeffery Hearty, beloved sons David Hearty and Luke Hearty (Alyssa), sister Janet Neal (Steven) and brother Roy West (Becky). She was a sister-in-law and aunt of many, and proud soon-to-be grandmother to her first grandchild.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31 at 11:00am at St. Martin of Tours Church, 14600 Turney Rd., Maple Heights, OH (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment All Saints Cemetery.
