Beatrice O'Keefe Obituary

Beatrice M. O'Keefe, age 91, born September 8, 1928 and passed away in Clearwater, FL April 28, 2020; beloved wife of Robert; loving mother of David (Susan) and Karen McPherson (Chuck); devoted grandmother of Kyle and Nathan; Beatrice was the youngest of John and Sophie Szudarek and when her father was asked how many children he had, he would answer that he had a full house, 3 kings and 2 queens: Raymond, Stanley, Richard, Teresa (Sr. Mary John) all of which are now deceased. Beatrice went to Immaculate Heart of Mary grade school and South High School. She sang in the choir and was very active with Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Beatrice was the Executive Secretary to the Financial Vice President of Harris Corp, she met Robert at a VFW convention and then married at Immaculate Heart on May 16, 1959. They lived in Garfield Hts and became members of Saints Peter and Paul Church and later moved to Parma and joined St. Columbkille Church where Bea was active in Bingo, Ladies Guild and 50 plus club, Union of Poles and Rain Maker Camping club. In 1984 she co-chaired a bus trip to Toronto, Canada where Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass. In 2001 Bea and Bob retired to Clearwater, FL and became members of Espiritu Santo Church where she remained active in Bingo and many social events up to her passing. Bea enjoyed hobbies such as BAKING, Plastic Canvas, word search, playing cards and board games, sewing, ceramics and she LOVED spending time with her grandsons, watching their sporting events and taking them to the beach. Family and friends are asked to meet at St. Columbkille Church, 6740 Broadview Rd, Parma, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 10:00am. Inurnment St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in memory of Bea to a charity of your choice.
