Catherine Vanessa Martin

Catherine Vanessa Martin (nee Daniel) age 47 of Amherst, Ohio. Beloved wife of Robert L. Martin for 26 years and loving, proud mother to Ryan and Jacob Martin. Born and raised in Yuma, AZ, she was a graduate of Cibola High School. Cathy felt blessed to stay home and raise her boys in both Georgia and Ohio, then went on to a fulfilling position she was passionate about with University Hospitals as a Provider Administrative Assistant in the Infectious Diseases Division. She will be greatly missed, as she brought joy and smiles to all she met with a positive outlook and grateful heart. Cathy is also survived by her parents Betty and Jim Engels, sisters Donna (Jeff), Melissa (John), Jennette (Randy) and her brothers Nick (Mirella) and Mike (Denise), as well as eleven nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her father David and step-mother Nancy Daniel, her brother Tom Daniel and grandparents Tom and Emma Daniel and John and Alma Cope. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11:00am at St. John United Church of Christ, 204 Leonard St., South Amherst, OH 44001. A service in Cathy's hometown of Yuma, AZ will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Blue Star Mothers of America, Ohio Buckeyes Chapter 26, PO Box 471, North Olmsted, OH 44070. Blue Star Mothers was a passion of Cathy's as she loved that she had two strong young men serving their country.
