Eleanor Plisga (nee Pawlicki) passed away Friday, July 7th just 6 weeks after celebrating her 95th birthday. She was beloved wife of John (deceased), sister of Rita Pawlicki (deceased), mother of David (Kris), Carol, Jane Neal (Steve) and Michael. Loving grandmother of Nora Koontz (Justin) and John Plisga. Great grandmother of Kallie and Collin Koontz. Upon graduation from Jane Adams Vocational High School, Eleanor became a master seamstress at Halle's in downtown Cleveland. After marriage to John in 1949, she continued to be a master seamstress for her family and too numerous friends to count. Her sewing room overflowed with patterns, fabric, thread, zippers, buttons, etc. Everyone knew they could count on Eleanor to fix or make whatever they needed. Students at Saints Peter & Paul grade school back in the 70's remembers Eleanor and her partner in crime, Mary Hondzynski, as the hot dog ladies. In 1978, Eleanor (Ellie) joined Mary and her husband Harry and daughter Sherry at Convenient Food Mart / Boulevard Convenient and retired in 2005 after 27 years. Her husband John often remarked about all the cars that would drive past their house with people waving / honking horns and Eleanor would tell John just wave back because they were her friends from Convenient. Eleanor will be greatly missed by her family and friends but equally blessed to have her with them for 95 years. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Western Reserve for their support the past 3 years and also the caregivers from Griswold Home Care for their care and companionship. Visitation is Thursday, July 13th from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm at Golubski Deliberato Funeral Home, 4747 Turney Road, Garfield Hts., OH 44125. Mass of Christian Burial at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 4750 Turney Road, Garfield Hts., OH 44125 at 11:00am on Friday, July 14th with luncheon to follow afterwards at Golubski Deliberato Funeral Home.
