Robert A Baroni

Robert A. Baroni, age 76, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024.
Robert Baroni entered the military in 1966 as an artillery Canoneer with the 4/42 4th infantry. Stationed at Fort Sill OK, and then after graduation leaving for duty to Pleiku Vietnam. During his tour he was caught in an enemy ambush, wounding his legs and hand. During that time he won the Purple Heart. He spent six months in camp Zama hospital in Japan. After his recuperation period he was re-assigned to Korea to finish his tour of duty. He turned it down and chose to go back to Vietnam with his outfit, the 4/42 4th infantry. He felt it was a job assigned to him, and he wanted to be the one to finish the job.

Robert Baroni was a 1966 graduate of Maple Heights High School. Was a beloved father to Christopher Baroni (Kim), Becky Baroni, and Amy McClelland (Kevin); cherished grandfather to Brittany, Alesha, and Alex Baroni ; loving son of Elizabeth (Nee Ivanovic) and Edward Baroni (both deceased); dearest brother James Baroni (Marianna) and Sharon Armul; dearest uncle to Katy, B.J and Scott, as well as a great uncle to many.
A service honoring the life of Robert A. Baroni will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Aril 26, 2024 at 9:45am, as well as a celebration of life that will be announced at a later date.
