Ruth Ann Polak (nee Remus) age 93; beloved wife of the late Thomas; devoted mother of Ken (Lenore), Jim (deceased), Nancy Simpson (Donny), and Janice Shafts (Tom); loving grandmother of Tim Polak (Lisa), Jill Schwarz (Chris), Augustine Polak (Lindsey), Thomas Polak (Clare), Deedra Watson (Eric) and Jesse Shafts (Jen) and great grandmother of Jane, Penny, Ava, Madilyn, Thomas, James, Samuel, Anya, Josef, Neva, Ralph, John and Addison; dearest sister of Adele Graham (Bud) (both deceased); loving aunt and great aunt of many.
Ruth grew up on the near West Side of Cleveland, where she met her high school sweetheart, Tom. They then married and shared life together for 51 years. They enjoyed traveling the world together and were avid dog lovers. Ruth was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Monica Church since its beginning. She was a dedicated nurse's aide and provided loving care to her patients. But her real purpose in life was her family whom she cherished, loved and supported endlessly. Ruth will be remembered for her gentle ways and ever-present, beautiful smile.
Family and friends are asked to meet at St. Monica Church 13623 Rockside Rd., Garfield Hts., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00am. Memorial Gathering at Church 10:00am to 11:00am (one hour prior to Mass). Inurnment All Saints Cemetery.
